Still Unsure?
Book a confidential consultation and get a clear plan for your next steps.
1. Can a paralegal really handle my divorce?
Yes — for joint and uncontested divorces. That’s exactly what FLSP authorization is designed for.
2. Is help from an FLSP recognized by the court?
Yes. We’re licensed paralegals who are licensed and regulated by the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
Additionally, we are authorized Family Legal Services Providers (FLSP), which allows us to assist with certain family law matters.
3. How much does it cost?
We offer flat-rate pricing for most services. No surprises. No hourly billing.
To view our fees, visit our family law fee schedule page.
4. Can I meet virtually?
Yes — we meet clients by phone, or Zoom throughout Ontario.
5. What’s the difference between an uncontested divorce and a joint divorce?
Both uncontested and joint divorces are types of amicable divorce proceedings in Ontario where the spouses agree on key issues like property division, child custody, and support.
However, there is an important distinction between the two:
Uncontested Divorce
- One spouse files for divorce on their own.
- The other spouse does not oppose or respond to the application.
- There is no formal agreement filed jointly, but the responding spouse is essentially choosing not to participate, which allows the divorce to proceed uncontested.
Joint Divorce
- Both spouses file together using a joint application.
- This means they are actively cooperating and have agreed in advance on all terms.
- Often used when the separation is amicable and both parties want a quick, low-conflict resolution.
