Express Entry

It's crucial to understand that Express Entry isn't an independent immigration program. Instead, it's an online platform designed to oversee Canada's immigration application intake and offer a transparent route to permanent residency. A qualified Express Entry candidate has the privilege to create an Express Entry Profile, provided they meet the program criteria.

This profile remains valid for a period of 12 months, allowing candidates the chance to receive an Invitation to Apply from the Canadian Federal Government or a Letter of Invitation from a interested Canadian province. Once an Invitation to Apply (ITA) is received, candidates are encouraged to submit an ePR for processing.

The Express Entry covers the following programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program

Application Process

While the system may appear straightforward, it's crucial to approach the application process, which includes EE profile registration and ePR submission, with utmost diligence. This ensures the prevention of potential PR refusals, misrepresentation claims, and CRS score recalculations. Before considering this PR pathway for our clients, there are several preparatory steps we must undertake.

  • Verify the applicant's eligibility and ensure they meet the requirements of the aforementioned programs.
  • Gather all necessary documents to substantiate the information used for determining the CRS score. This step is crucial to prevent potential refusal of the ePR application.
  • Create and register the applicant's Express Entry (EE) profile, ensuring an accurate CRS score is allocated. After submission, the system generates a Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) based on the provided details. Profiles remain valid for one year.
  • Upon receiving an Invitation to Apply, applicants must act promptly. Invitations are issued monthly based on the CRS cut-off score. Once accepted, applicants have 60 days to submit their Permanent Residence application along with all required documents.
  • Compile the necessary evidence, documentation, and eligibility verification to ensure the CRS score is accurately applied in the actual e-PR application process. This step is vital for a successful application.
